Floods: An Unholy Trinity

THE downpour lasting several days starting on Friday two weeks ago affected three Kalimantan provinces: Central, West, and South Kalimantan. Thousands of houses and public facilities like schools were inundated. The floods that lasted for days in some areas reached a height of 1.5 meters.
As usual, most victims of the floods suffered from various diseases. In general, they had diarrhea, respiratory infections, and skin complaints.
