A MAJORITY of West Nusa Tenggara farmers, especially those who live on the edge of the forests, still implement a traditional cultivation system. They plant seasonal crops and timber. Agriculture using this system relies on existing natural resources. Farmers usually do not fertilize or maintain intensively. The farmers also usually do not pay attention to the type of trees planted. This means production is relatively low.
