Surabaya is finally connected to Madura Island. The bridge, claimed to be the longest in Southeast Asia, is expected to boost development in the region, especially on Madura.

SURABAYA and Madura Island are no longer separated. Midnight, April 1, the bridge from Surabaya’s side to Madura’s side was connected. The process of connecting the steel box girder took about 30 minutes. As soon as the girder was connected, sirens and fireworks broke the night, right in the middle of the Madura strait.
