The first world ocean conference will be held this May 11-15 in Manado, North Sulawesi. It is a serious effort to save oceans from climate change and thus sustain humanity.

APPROXIMATELY 72 percent of the earth’s surface is covered by ocean. It is the source of food, energy, and transport path for goods and humans. Most importantly, it has capability of balancing and slowing down climate change as phytoplankton in the ocean can absorb the carbon dioxide resulting from gas emissions, like gas from motorized vehicles and industries.
