WAYAN Sukaraga was intently watching the abalone in a small bottle. This 47-year-old man was studying the possible growth of fungus on this kind of shellfish. Abalone, called Haliotis in Latin, is his object of research as requirement to complete his master’s study program in agricultural biotechnology at Udayana University, Bali. Wayan seeks to prove if galangal extract can be used to control the dried product of abalone fungus.
