Bajo tribesmen in Southeast Sulawesi build fish ponds in the sea for survival. This endeavor has turned out to save other sea biota including reefs.

THE Bajo ethnic group is a famed seafaring tribe. In the past they made boats their homes. Today, they have built houses in Muna Island waters, Southeast Sulawesi, still in the sea. Their dwellings are made of light construction materials such as mangrove wood for main pillars, zinc sheeting for roofs and planks for walls.
