Compared to the Western Indonesia Territory (KBI), the Eastern Indonesia Territory (KTI) generally lags behind in aspects of development. This, among others, is visible from the availability of public facilities in the region.

IN its 2010-2014 Mid-level National Development Plan (RPTMN), the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) aims to maximize energy supply in the KTI to support the region’s economy. “For the installation aspect, we will push the development in the regions in the KTI, focusing on transportation and energy,” said Arifin Rudiyanto, Bappenas Director of Territory Development to Tempo last Monday.
