THE commemoration of Papuan Independence Day Tuesday last week in Jayapura regency and Jayapura city was marred by mass rallies. The rallies took place at several locations; at the residence of head of the Papuan Presidium Council, Theys Eluay (deceased) in Sentani, Jayapura regency, in front of the Budaya Expo Museum entrance, Wamena, Abepura, and at the Cendrawasih University campus in Wamena, Abepura.
