In several elementary schools in Takalar, South Sulawesi, children are prepared to be “agents of sanitation”: they are expected to impart knowledge on healthy life behavior to their parents.

IT is early morning in Kaluku Bodo Elementary School. Students go back and forth to their classes and the yard, taking turns sweeping, taking out garbage, making sure their class and their yard looks crisp and clean.
