THE bamboo-wall hut stands by the main road of Tinongko village. A group of housewives sit around a white cloth-covered bamboo table. While chatting interspersed with occasional hearty laughs their hands dexterously sort wooden beads, making necklaces and unraveling the cords. On the walls of the hut are posters featuring the theme of environment conservation: “Stop Illegal Logging” or “Forest is a source of water that never runs out.”
