A HAPPY atmosphere prevailed on the veranda of one of the hotels in Makassar. On the veranda dozens of midwives and dukun were gathered. The Regency of Takalar in South Sulawesi intended to use the event to promote an understanding of the dukun-midwife partnership in childbirth.
