EDUCATION in remote areas is nothing new to Fasli Jalal, now Deputy Minister of National Education. As a teacher’s son, his parents often asked him to act as an “assistant” when Fasli was a child. During school days he once led a team of foreign students from Canada who followed the student exchange program to live in remote villages with no electricity, television, and asphalted roads.
