HE is a native son of Dayak Ngaju, who obtained a PhD in anthropology from the University of Indonesia last December with cum laude. His thesis was titled Kaharingan, The Dynamics of Dayak Religion in Central Kalimantan. Marko Mahin, 41, was born in Sei Kayu, Kapuas regency. Kaharingan is the religion of the Dayak Ngaju tribe from thousands of years ago.
