National SAR Joint Training

INDONESIA’S National Search & Rescue Agency (Basernas) took part in the ASEAN Regional Forum Disaster Relief Exercise (ARF DiRex) at Blue Banter, Manado, North Sulawesi last week. In the training, each participating member country—including Basernas—simulated efforts at rescuing victims trapped beneath ruins.

Jumping from a helicopter, the Basernas team skillfully operated the instruments to detect the victims.
