Students from Hasanuddin University in Makassar are trying to raise money and attract volunteers through a social networking website to help street kids. The volunteers belong to the Street Children Support Community.

AT one home in the Bung Permai housing complex, Makassar, the loud sound of happy children fills the main room. Five street children are enjoying studying the proper recitation of the Qur’an, guided by two volunteers. The hands of Lala, a 7-year-old girl, are covered with marker ink.
