A New Breed of Business People

Last October, the Industry Ministry announced plans to allocate Rp171 billion to create a new breed of entrepreneurs. The objective is to strengthen Indonesia's competitiveness as ASEAN gets set to become an economic community by 2015. Experience has shown, time and again, that creating successful entrepreneurs is no easy task. Often, they fail midway, for lack of capacity, the proper mindset and most of all, a businesss sense. To overcome this handicap, groups of trainers have been deployed to teach the basics of commerce, using innovative methods. These trainers went around the country to demonstrate the art of doing business, specifically to manage cash flow and how to access markets.
