Dozens of small, agile kijang deer (Cervulus muntjac) played amid the flower shrubs in an open shed owned by Ketut Karnita in Batungsel village. They ran back and forth, chasing one another along the six-by-20-meter outbuilding fenced with one-meter-high prefab bricks.
