HAMAK Utara village hall in Hulu Sungai Regency has been transformed into a classroom. Twenty tables and dozens of chairs fill the 6 x 6-meter room. A chalkboard hangs on one wall, and on another sit shelves filled with textbooks, newspapers and magazines. When Tempo English visited the hall two weeks ago, Yayu was making a bracelet with amethyst beads as 15 students looked on. "We're having a craft lesson," the 33-year-old woman explained.
