Husna Indra Furi, 28, walks 15 minutes each morning taking her five-year-old son, Agung, to kindergarten at Al-Kausar in Jambi City, Jambi. Along the way, the two often stoop to pick up trash. "Many people still go on littering. I just pick after them, because their trash is useful for me," she said.

Husna explained that at Al-Kausar Kindergarten, monthly school fees can be paid with garbage. Plastic bottles, used paper, old newspapers, books or scrap metalall can be deposited at the school's waste bank as payment. The kindergarten is also known as Sekolah Bank Sampah (Waste Bank School).
