Participants of the MakassarScreen.com also come from Palu, Lombok and Papua. Riri, director of the iconic Laskar Pelangi ('Rainbow Warrior') and many international-award-winning movies, is convinced that film clubs in the provinces are able to raise Indonesia's visibility and reputation in the international world of film. He said they needed support, help to increase knowledge and technique, and the space to create.
