The Anti-smoking Troops

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

THE weekly staff physical exercises at the Office of Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism of Balangan Regency on the last Friday of May was by no means 'business as usual'. Conducted on the lawn of the office, the workout that week was interspersed with an anti-smoking campaign. An announcement was also made, that smoking was no longer allowed in public spaces.

The campaign was carried out by the Coalition of Anti-Smoking Health Professionals (KPK-AR) of Balangan. In their campaign, the coalition gives talks and distributes leaflets and pins to the general population. This particular activity deliberately fell on the international No Tobacco Day, commemorated every May 31. "This is how we publicize the idea," said secretary of the Balangan KPK-AR Ariyani to Tempo English two weeks ago.
