WITH just a little over 87 percent of the country electrified, Indonesia holds one of the lowest electrification ratios in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, Indonesia's use of new eco-friendly renewable energy is only 7 percentrather ironic, considering the country is an equatorial archipelago, which means that there should be an abundance of renewable energy resources, such as solar heat, wind, water, biomass, biogas, as well as geothermal.
