Understanding History Through Travel

Often regarded as "ancient" knowledge - history is not a subject which appeals to many youths. Uninteresting methods of teaching it at schools make it even less popular, despite the fact that understanding the past provides important clues to learning about the present and the future. Some youths were very aware of this lack of interest in history, so they began initiating projects that would be appreciated by the public, especially in their local areas. The History Community in West Kalimantan invites its members to visit destinations of historical significance. Similarly, in West Sulawesi, a university student majoring in history, organizes outings to historical areas -the results of which are written on a blog and uploaded on social media. Learning from the Past

The History Community of Pontianak in West Kalimantan invites its local residents to explore the town's past. Their activities have been made into a book.
