An association of domestic workers in Makassar has set up a special school, in which students are taught negotiation and organizational skills and other self-reliant strategies.

Around 30 women between the age of 20 and 50 seemed to be engaged in a lively discussion. The day's discussion, on gender inequality in the family, sex, cooking recipes and effective babysitting, was often interrupted with laughter and casual banter.
