Some young people from the Talang Mamak tribe in Riau have formed a group to patrol their customary forests. Illegal loggers can be caught red-handed.

TWICE a month, Joni goes into the forest outside the Talang Mamak tribe's indigeneous village in the Indragiri Hulu regency, Riau. He patrols the forest with at least three other local youths to keep an eye out for activities that harm the forest.
