Improving Belu’s Teachers

A large, blue tarpaulin sheet was stretched on several wooden sticks to shelter the 30 women who gathered underneath it for the monthly Teachers’ Activity Center meeting. The women, wearing white shirts and the traditional woven sarung from East Nusa Tenggara, were divided into small groups. On their tables were a variety of material: color paper, old newspapers and magazines.
