Villagers in the Yapen Islands, Papua, have found a creative use for keladi, using the tuber plant as key ingredient in pizza dough.

There was a time when Herdomina Ramandai would always have trouble selling her keladi (taro-like tuber). Even after selling some of her harvest to the market, her keladi supply never seemed to diminish. Unsurprising, since all her neighbors were also growing the same plant. She would be forced to process the plant every day, incorporating it into chili sauce, for example.
