A Spot on Merapi Slope

IT was a quiet morning. Forty children gathered at the tip of a hamlet path in Tangkil, Ngargomulyo village, Dukun district, Magelang regency. The silence on the slope of Central Javas Mt. Merapi was broken with the arrival of Father V. Kardjito, who would conduct the Procession of the Cross, a ritual practiced by Catholics as part of the Easter celebration. The kids greeted the priest: Good morning, Father.
