Let inanimate things speak. Then the plight of man will be better understood. Imagination of this sort appears in photographic works of Jean-Christophe Ballot and Michel Semeniako, exhibited at the Indonesian-French Institute from October 12 through to the end of last week in Yogyakarta. On the other hand, two other photographers, Dolores Marat and Elisabeth Carecchio, make use of humans as subjects in Surabaya’s nightlife.
