BERNARDO Hugh Tovar was in the midst of the blood bath in Jakarta on 30 September 1965. He was the bureau chief of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Jakarta at that time. Although, up until this day, he states that he "did not know anything about the communist attempt to overthrow the Indonesian government".
