A suspect in the Timika case is slowly turning blind and deaf in jail as a result of hepatitis and tuberculosis. The appeal for special treatment has gone unanswered.

THIRTY-four-year-old Hardi Tsugumol, a suspect in the Timika case is left to lie in his cell. I am paralyzed, he said weakly.
