Farmers Face Prosecution

Farmers in Demak, Central Java, are finding it difficult to smile these days. As of last Monday the local government has asked the police to go door-to-door to collect debts of farmers undertaking the Farmers Lending Scheme (KUT). "If this approach doesn’t work we’ll have to take legal action," stated Demak official Hero Susilo, as quoted in Kompas.
