IN the lecture hall at Kolese Kanisius Jakarta, Sehat Sutardja travelled back to the past one afternoon in June. He was reunited with friends from his school days, friends he played with, and former teachers.
“Basically, I’m meeting everyone I had not seen for a long time,” he said in slightly broken Indonesian. Living more than three decades in the United States has made his mother tongue a bit rusty.
