A story for the Indonesian Council of Clerics (MUI)
BENTO was cursed and expelled when he was just 24. On July 27, 1656, the council of rabbis at the Amsterdam synagogue proclaimed that Bento, a young man who had been an outstanding student in religion, was cast out from the Jewish community, from the “tribes of Israel”, because of his ideas and despicable conduct.
