RACHEL Corrie, now in heaven, ever recalled be your name. Let the memory live forever of someone who, aged 23, was prepared to die for others, someone who, one Sunday with death a matter of routine, was indeed then killed, as though prepared to be forgotten.
That day, March 16, was not noted, because the days are never noted in the lives of the Palestinians, people who truly know, in every nerve end of their bodies, what “temporary” means.
