OIL has been a prima donna during the last two years with the price of crude inclined to continue to increase on global markets. The price of light sweet crude on the New York market surpassed the US$50 per barrel level in the middle of last year. During the first three years of this year, the price of light sweet crude has not dropped below the US$50 per barrel level. The price of other oils, such as Indonesian crude petroleum, has also soared.
