The new Law on Aceh Local Administration is now in the hands of the Home Affairs Minister. But the issue of dividing the province couldnt be more ill-timed.

The drafting of the Law on Aceh Local Administration proceeded smoothly in Banda Aceh. But it made a big noise elsewhere. Almost all parties concerned gave their supportexcept for 11 regencies in the eastern part of Aceh, Indonesias westernmost province.
