Shoreline Reforestation

RESIDENTS in coastal areas of Nagan Raya regency in western Aceh have appealed to the government to reforest the shorelines devastated by the tsunami in 2004.

Darwis, head of Suak Puntong village, Kuala subdistrict, said on Thursday last week that the tsunami destroyed not only houses and farms inland but also mangrove forests along the shorelines in Kuala and Darul Makmur subdistricts.
