ITB Wheelchair

Abdul Luky Shofi’ul Azmi, a Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) student, designed a wheelchair for the disabled capable of making a quick turn, a 360-degree turn, and even moving in reverse. It is called Kroman, an acronym for Kursi Roda Mekanik Mandiri (independent mechanical wheelchair). The wheelchair, which costs only Rp2.5 million, won first prize at the March 2007 National Innovation Contest. l
