ONE day in the middle of 2008, four unidentified men with sturdy physiques were watching the official residence of Anisah Shofiawati in Lahat, South Sumatra. They walked to and fro in front of the house, peeking at the yard now and again. This happened for four days and nights. “They asked neighbors if it was really the house of a judge, a woman and still single,” said Anisah two weeks ago.
