THE wild idea arose at a Padang restaurant in Cikini, Central Jakarta. Teddy Soeriaatmadja and members of the Lovely Man film crew were taking a break after shooting a scene where thugs mob Ipuy, a transvestite, known as waria in local street parlance. The waria, played by Donny Damara, is mobbed for the theft of Rp30 million belonging to their boss. After a chase, the transvestite from Taman Lawang finally becomes easy prey for the muggers.
