Established shortly after the downfall of the Suharto regime, the Indonesia Corruption Watch unraveled numerous corruption scandals, becoming a beacon for the anti-graft movement in various regions. ICW is publicly funded in order to remain independent and self-sustainable.

At a small stand located in a corner of a Gramedia bookstore in Depok, the mood was spirited. A banner on the wall read: 'Make Your Presence Felt. Support Us'.

The stand had been put up by the Indonesia Corruption Watch, or ICW, over a month ago to raise funds from the public.
