Pancasila Hamlet is part of Tambora village in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province. This hamlet is the starting point for the difficult climb towards the peak of Mt. Tambora, and is also the source of Tambora coffee.

The journey takes 14 hours, passing through five posts. Much of the trail is obscured by shrubs and fallen kalanggo trees (Duabanga moluccana). Leeches are abundant. On the way to Post III, Tempo struggled to avoid nettles with poisonous stems and leaves. A brush with a stem caused a sharp pain like the sting of a bee.
