Best Actress Tutie Kirana
Oma Tutie

Tuesday, January 5, 2016

On the surface, she looks like a woman without a care in the world. But, from the eyes, her physical gestures and her facial expressions, she comes out looking nervous. Tuti Kirana is masterful at portraying an aging woman who outwardly is trying to look calm, but inwardly is seething with inner struggles. At the age of 65, the protagonist is trying hard to curb her passion. Without much dialogue, Tutie skillfully displays expressions of jealousy and an-all-too-human desire to be loved.

Tutie plays an elderly woman who, since her husband's death, lives alone with her housemad. One morning, her maid quits, leaving her all alone in a big house. Tutie plays out this lonely figure of a woman with subtlety and precision.
