Ar Esearch team could be seen busily packing telescopes into boxes at the National Aeronautics and Space Institute (Lapan) building in Bandung, on Monday two weeks ago. Other instruments, including cameras, laptops, solar filters, adaptors and batteries had already been moved to the observation site on Ternate island, North Maluku.
The team has earmarked a dozen stars for observation, while their locations in the sky at the appointed hour have also been noted. "We need a really dark sky in order to see the stars behind the sun," said one research team member, Anton Timur Jaelani.
