THE mirror was incredibly heavy. It could not be lifted with just one hand. It was about a meter and a half high, a meter wide, and set in a dark wooden frame. In the upper right corner was an old peeling photograph.
It bore the head and chest of a young man. He had been photographed from the side, his face facing forward, with an intent gaze and baggy eyes. Abuk put that photo there when I was young, said 34-year-old Dynni Ferianty.
