Hutomo Mandala Putra alias Tommy Suharto intentionally chose March 11 to officially take charge of the Working Party (Partai Berkarya). On that day, the party held a national leadership meeting in Surakarta, Central Java. "This coincides with the date that Suharto received his mandate from the March 11 Order of President Sukarno, 52 years ago," said Badaruddin Andi Picunang, the Working Party chair, at the end of April.
