President Abdurrahman Wahid's gentle persuasion has proved useless. Most political factions have agreed there should be a second memorandum. The stormclouds from the legislature in Senayan are spilling out onto the streets.

The auditorium has been prepared. It is the legislature building in Senayan, Jakarta, the area most often filled with demonstrators since President Abdurrahman Wahid took office in October 1999. The time is also certain: Monday, April 30. At that time most of the legislative factions are almost certain to order a second memorandum against Wahid.
