Meeting Domestic Demand

The government is certain that its domestic market obligation policy, meant to suppress the price of cooking oil, would not disrupt the export market. Businesses are still baffled.

IN front of 70 participants of the virtual meeting to discuss the domestic market obligation (DMO) policy and local price of palm cooking oil on Sunday, January 30, Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi promised he will immediately hand out export permits, especially to businesses that have allocated 20 percent of their oil palm exports for domestic needs to suppress the price of cooking oil.
