There are indications that SOEs Minister Erick Thohir will step forward as a candidate for PSSI general chairman. Some of his supporters are working to gain votes of support from soccer clubs and regional officials.

MINISTER of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir was at The Westin hotel in Surabaya, East Java, on Sunday, November 20, for the opening of the FIFA World Cup 2022. He had invited the management and players from the Persebaya Surabaya soccer club to watch the opening match of Qatar against Ecuador. Persebaya Club President Azrul Ananda was unable to attend as the invitations had been sent out on short notice the day before.
